The Grand Hotel first opened its doors in 1874. The Louis XVI revival style building, with its hint of Nordic art nouveau and characteristic clock tower from 1913, is right on Karl Johans gate, Oslo's main street, and stands as a symbol of a first-class hotel with tradition, atmosphere and style. The hotel has been extended and modernized over the years, and today, the Grand Hotel has 290 rooms, including 52 suites, 15 conference rooms, and a number of restaurants and bars. It is a modern meeting place for people from around the world in the center of Norway's capital. It's right where you want to be!

Each room at the Grand Hotel has its own special character and style. The rooms and suites facing Karl Johan all have balconies, where many famous personalities have stood and waved to the crowd outside. The hotel has a total of 500 beds in 238 rooms and 51 suites.
Many celebrities have stayed at the Grand Hotel over the years, from heads of state to pop stars. With all their special desires and demands, they have helped make the hotel what it is today. The Grand Hotel has a unique atmosphere which has developed over many generations of hospitality.

Banquets and balls have been held at the Grand Hotel for more than 100 years. Tradition is important at the Grand Hotel. It's part of our heritage.
Speilen (the Mirror Room) can accommodate up to 320 guests. This wonderful room is a perfect balance between modern luxury and the historic atmosphere of Grand's past. With the addition of the Rococo Room, tables can be arranged for up to 560 guests, or up to 750 guests can be accommodated for a reception.
We can make special arrangements in connection with meetings, courses, conferences, campaigns or celebrations in our many different meeting rooms, all with modern audio-visual equipment. We have 15 of them, with capacities ranging from 4 to 300.
Artesia Spa Grand Hotel takes pleasure in offering 7 exclusive treatmentrooms, including 1 double suite, as well as swimmingpool, steamroom, sauna and changing rooms. All treatment rooms have bathtubs for water treatments, there is a separate VIP-suite for groups and the spa will offer all spa-related treatments; massage, facials, body treatments as well as foot therapy, pedicure and manicure.
Location:
The Grand Hotel, in the middle of Karl Johans gate, Oslo's main street, has the best location in town. It is only a two-minute walk from the National Theatre station, where you can take the underground (T-bane), a tram or busses to all parts of town. You can also catch the airport train, which takes you to Oslo Airport Gardermoen in just 25 minutes.
Cancellation and Hotel Policies:
There is no upfront payment, we require valid credit card details to guarantee the reservation, however all clients pay direct to the hotel upon departure. Your credit card will be validated to secure your booking.
There is no charge if cancellations are made two (2) days prior arrival: Cancellations made late or no-shows will be charged one (1) night cancellation / no-show fee.
Please note that on special dates with fairs and exhibitions the cancellation policy may vary.
